Dar January 21, 2015 for Model Number wmh31017as I just bought this Whirlpool microwave and there is a small mount in the rear. Then I need to put 2 screws in from the top cabinet. I dont have a cabinet above the microwave. Is there a diffrent mount I can use?
1 Answer Hello Dar, I'm sorry but this is the only way to mount an over the range microwave. You can mount a couple of shelf brackets and use the shelf to hang the microwave as long as the brackets are firmly secured to the wall studs to support the units' weight. There are decorative brackets that are attractive that will not only provide you with a satisfactory support for the microwave, but are also a cheaper alternative to a cabinet that will provide you with an open storage space above the unit. Dale May 08, 2014 for Model Number 665.6065200 I am in need of a mounting bracket. The microwave attaches to the wall with the use of a handle, attached to a spring loaded clip on the back of the appliance. When you pull the lever, it release the hold on the mounting plate, and allows the micro to tip forward for removal. The mounting bracket pictured is missing the needed piece of metal welded in place that attaches/catches and holds the microwave. It would be located in the lower right hand side of the upside down pic on website. In the retangular depression. As it looks now, there is nothing that would hold the microwave to the bracket. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Dale! According to the model number supplied the mounting bracket is part number WP8206174. This is a manufacturer replacement part and may differ in appearance but is a functional equivalent to the original. Thanks. Read More...
