Maribel, If the agitator will not stay down then you will want to pull the fabric softener cup off and check to make sure that the agitator bolt is still in screwed into place. If not screw back down and if it keeps coming loose then you would want to get a new agitator bolt. If the part that the agitator bolt screws through is broken off then you would need to replace the agitator.
