Greg P April 07, 2016 for Model Number CGR3742BDC I bought two orifice tube assemblies and got them, but they aren't like the old damaged ones I took off. The old ones have an orifice in the end of the tube (the burner end) that the brass orifice hood goes over; the new assemblies don't have these-the burner end of the tubes is simply a threaded opening that the hoods screw onto. Am I missing something here? Thanks

Mike N. June 27, 2014 for Model Number Maytag MGR5770ADB Are your left and right Orifice Tube Assemblies, PN's AP4396768 and AP4370024 shipped with natural gas orifices or propane? My stove is currently set up for propane. If shipped with only NG orifices, is there a proplem with cleaning the propane orifices I have and mounting to new assemblies?
1 Answer Mike, Yes, the orifice tube assemblies are shipped from the factory with the NAT gas orifice(s) pre installed. Your idea of cleaning and installing the PL gas orifices on the new assembly should be the easiest way to go. Just switch them one at a time, location for location and you should be fine. Mitcht July 22, 2013 for Model Number MGR5750ADW One side of the range does not want to light. There is spark but sometimes it appears not enough gas. If the burners are set just right rotating the knob to light burner back and forth with gas on it may finally light. I'm just curious to know if the problem could be a faulty orifice tube assembly.
1 Answer Mitch, If there is a gas flow issue then the issue would not be in the tube assembly but the orifice may be clogged or the ports on the burner. You will want to check the burner to make sure that the ports are not clogged. It could also be a issue with the gas valve for the unit but if both sides are the issue then it may be that the igniters have been shifted while cleaning and need to be adjusted. Read More...
Dave March 01, 2011 Hey guys! Right after I sent you my email a few minutes ago, I thought: I gotta be wrong. Went back to the service manual, and found the section about conversion to propane. Don't know how I missed it. Only thing I had to do was tighten down the new burner orifice hoods. Did that, got a nice blue flame. Thanks for being there and helping me unfreeze my brain.
