Willy January 27, 2013 for Model Number du1100xtpta Plastic touch panel overlay has lost the covering piece for 2 of the buttons. DW works fine. Why does a new touch panel overlay cost so much? I can get a whole new dishwasher for a little over twice that cost. Am I looking at the wrong part?
1 Answer Hello Willy. Yes, WP3385735 is the correct part. We do not have any information available as to why parts are priced the way they are. Also, we have a low price guarantee if you find it cheaper somewhere else. Here is the link to the guarantee. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/customerservice/orderhelp.aspx Read More...
Peggie February 23, 2012 for Model Number du1145xtpq7 whirlpool How hard is this to install? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Peggie. Start off by turning the breaker off to the unit. You will need to take the screws out along the edges of the door panel exposed with the door open. The hardest thing about this is fighting with the door springs while you attempt the repair. I usually use the inner door panel to "prop" the door open by pulling it out at the bottom and hooking it in the top. Remove the protective cover over the control board. Remove the screws holding in the board, door switches, and the control panel (usually 1/4 inch hex head). Be sure if there is any Styrofoam pieces around the vent to remove and put in the new assembly. Reassemble in the reverse order. If you do this as I do you might have a ground wire to remove and reinstall, but you will never remove any wires from the board or any other components. This is the desired method as it eliminates the possibility of mis-wiring. Don't forget to put the cover back on over the control as this prevents damage from condensation to the electronic control. After inner door panel re-installation, turn the breaker back on and try a rinse and hold. If there are any questions or problems, please feel free to contact us and we will help as much as possible! Good luck and have a great day! Read More...
