Tom, For the drain issue, check the drain hose for kinks or clogs, check the air gap at the sink to make sure it's not clogged with residue/garbage and restricting the water flow. remove the dishwasher drain line from the kitchen sink and drain the water into a large bucket or container, this will usually free and flush the debris from the pump and drain hose. The WP8268825 Tower Protector doesn't have "clips" to hold it to the rack. It is a twist and lock type fitting on the bottom of the rack tines/rungs. Remove the rack, set it up on the side of the rack, grasp the tower and twist it until the bottom tabs are free from the rack. Reverse the procedure to install the new tower.

Hello Jessica. Yes, with out this part the lower arm would not work and the unit would not clean properly.

Marge, The clips that are for holding the spray tower in place are part of the tower protector WP8268825.

Hello Garry. It is used to protect the pop up sprayer and guide it as well.

John, To install the tower protector on the lower rack you would put into the center of the rack and twist into place with clips.
