Karen May 16, 2016 for Model Number 62946975 I have a 98 model 62946975 Jenn Air downdraft stove and the door won't shut all the way. Have already replaced the hinges and the door panel does not appear to be warped. Now I'm looking at replacing the hinge receiver WP71002206. How difficult are these to replace? I can't find any utube video addressing this. Thank you, Karen
1 Answer Karen, Replacing the receptacles isn't difficult, it'getting to the receptacle that's difficult. Remove power from unit. " Remove unit from installation position, Remove oven door, Remove front side trim Remove screws securing side panel to chassis. Remove the top and bottom screws securing hinge receiver to the front frame. Remove hinge receiver from oven chassis. Reverse procedure to reinstall oven door hinge". You also want to check the oven front frame, where the hinges are located and make sure the frame hasn't bowed out at the top of the hinge opening. Read More...
Duf December 30, 2013 for Model Number Maytag / JennAir wall oven model W132W Hinge on one side seems to have slipped back into the housing a bit not allowing the door to close fully. How do I access the inner housing, and what do you think caused it to recede?
1 Answer Duf, The hinge on the unit is screwed to the cabinet and to get to it you would need to pull the wall oven out some. What you may want to look at is if the oven door liner may be warped where the hinges go into the door. If warped then the inner door liner will need to be replaced.
