Tony V. December 04, 2014 for Model Number 66575829000 Like others have written, my Kenmore oven will not maintain heat and therefore cannot be trusted to cook properly. I've replaced ignitors but still have same problem. I do NOT get any error codes on the display panel. I'll gladly replace temp sensor to fix this issue but from what I've read elsewhere, if the sensor IS bad then an error code would be generated. If sensor doesn't fix concern. then the next repair would be to replace control panel circuit board. My displays panel appears to be fine. All the lights work, clock, timer, etc. . . So i guess I'm asking this; Is it the sensor or the board? Is there a way to test the circuit board as well ? I just want my oven to work !
1 Answer Tony, You will want to test the oven sensor for resistance. The resistance should be 1090 ohms at room temperature. If this checks ok then you may want to check into the oven safety valve. Read More...
Ed October 06, 2014 for Model Number 665.75014103 On preheat gas will shut off. We shut controls and start again. After several starts and stops preheat will work and oven then works normally.
1 Answer Ed, With the units burners shutting off it sounds like the issue would be with the oven safety valves coils closing causing the gas to terminate. Read More...
Joe March 20, 2013 for Model Number 66595804000 While on the bake setting my Kenmore oven heated up, but only on the broiler element. The display read E2 F3 and I couldn't shut the oven off. I eventually had to turn the breaker off to stop it. Do I need a new temperature sensor or is it something else?
1 Answer Hello Joe, The E2-F3 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board in the range senses an over-temperature condition in the oven, (known by technicians as "runaway temperature"). This can be caused by a temperature sensor probe WP8273340 out of tolerance, a wiring problem between the sensor and the control board, or an electronic control board relay failure. If the oven is not heating when this error code appears, (unit not turned on), then you probably have an out-of-tolerance temperature sensor probe. To test with an ohm-meter, it should read about 1100O at room temperature, (70°F). If the oven is overheating, then you likely have a stuck relay on the electronic oven control board WP8523665. Glenn February 12, 2013 for Model Number 665.75822000 At 350 setting oven only heats to 250. Checked with Fluke 16 with temperature probe. Set oven to 450, temp reaches 450.
1 Answer Hello Glenn. You will need to test the sensor in the unit. It should read around 1100 ohms at room temp and 1650 ohms at 350°. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jun December 18, 2012 for Model Number SF367LEHN7 The oven doesn't stay on. It keeps turning off. Please advise.
1 Answer Hello Jun, This sounds like a bad connection. Once the control is set, the relay continues to pass the current until the primary voltage to the relay is discontinued. This will only happen when the off button is pressed or something else stops the voltage supply from being available to the primary relay coil. I would start at the breaker and work toward the unit. I have found many issues with the receptacles and power cords are losing connection. The power cord will lose connection at the terminal block if the nuts are not tightened sufficiently. If the receptacle is losing connection, there will be a burned spot on one of the prongs that go into the receptacle. Read More...
Kelli S November 25, 2012 for Model Number Kenmore 66575829000 Oven displayed EO F3 code. Internet research indicates "oven sensor open." Can you sugges the proper part?
Emily May 11, 2012 for Model Number GR399LXGT2 My oven occasionally when baking will heat up rapidly and give a code E2 F3 and when I hit cancel it says "cooling". Is this the part I need, AP3037062, or is something else going on?
1 Answer Hello Emily. If it is rapid heating, it sounds like the control 6610201 has a relay that is sticking and the temperature probe is shutting the unit off. Based on that information, it sounds like the control will need to be replaced. Read More...
Pika September 05, 2011 for Model Number 66595775891 Hi, for the past year or so my oven temp has been too low and getting worse. When pre-heating to 350 the temp is only about 280 according to oven thermometer after 10 minutes. Self clean ran properly but did not improve the situation. Both the broil and bake elements (top and bottom) glow orange with no breaks or dark spots. Is replacing this sensor the next logical step?
1 Answer Pika, How accurate is your oven thermometer ? The oven temperature is a good Idea if the oven temperature is consistently higher or lower than the selected temperature, or never reaches a higher temperature. I would not expect your range to reach 350 dgrs. in 10 minutes, more like 15 to 20 minutes is more reasonable. At 280 dgrs in 10 minutes, your oven would be "temperred" but not properly pre heated and ready to maintain the set temperature. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...

2 Answers Russell, You're on top of it, Yes the RTD sensor and the oven temp sensor are the same part, just a different terminology. So the WP8273340 is the part you will need to order to repair the range. Thanks and Good Luck. Read More...
