This pressure switch senses and controls the washer's water level so the appliance fills correctly and avoids overfilling. Replaces a failed switch to address common fill issues and restore normal fill operation. What it does:

  • Detects water level via the pressure/air tube and signals the control to stop or continue filling.
  • Helps prevent overfill and underfill conditions by regulating fill amount.
  • Common replacement for symptoms such as overfilling, no-fill, or improper fill levels.
  • Works with the washer control to advance cycles when correct fill is reached.
What's included: One pressure switch. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off water before servicing to avoid shock or water damage.
  • Handle the pressure hose/tube carefully; ensure it is clear, correctly routed, and tightly connected to avoid false readings.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector and secure any clips or fasteners; test a short cycle to confirm proper operation.

Hello John. It sounds like the pressure hose is clogged or the pressure switch is bad. Blow through the hose to make sure it is clear.

Steve, it could either be the water level switch WPW10231402 or the water inlet valve WPW10144820. An easy way to test to see which part is bad you can start the washer and remove the power to it. If it continues to overfill you'll need to replace the inlet valve. If it stops filling you'll need to check to make sure the hose running from the tub to the pressure switch isn't kinked or clogged and replace the water level switch. Hope this helps you. Thanks.
