Best Seller
Manufacturer Part

By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM18022962
Manufacturer Part Number: WP3147265

This rocker switch controls the exhaust function on the appliance's ventilation system. It restores reliable on/off control of the blower when the original switch becomes worn, sticks, or fails. What it does:

  • Provides on/off control for the exhaust/blower circuit
  • Replaces a faulty or intermittent rocker that prevents the vent from operating correctly
  • Helps address symptoms such as blower won't start, won't shut off, or only works when the switch is jiggled
  • Restores proper tactile feel if the old switch is loose, cracked, or stuck
What's included:
  • 1 rocker switch
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
  • Access the control panel and note wire positions or take a clear photo
  • Transfer wires one at a time to the new switch; ensure terminals are fully seated—do not pull on the wires
  • Reassemble panels, restore power, and test exhaust operation

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Rocker Switch (Exhaust) (Part Number: OEM18022962)

Chuck for Model Number Jenn Air JDS9860AAP

I Believe I may have a bad rocker switch for the fan speed as ithe fan runs at the same speed whether the switch is toggled up or down. I will order the switch number previously provided but need to confirm that this symptom indicates a bad switch. Also, do you have instructions on how to remove the old one and install the new? Looks like the two screws on each side of the control panel must be removed. I presume it then comes off the range body? Or does something else need to be disconnected? Or can it be popped out from the front? One person in the comments said they did that using a putty knife. Thanks.

Remove screws located on the right and left sides of the control panel. 5. Grasp control panel on the far left and right sides and gently pull the control panel out and down. NOTE: Gently pull control panel out and down. 6. Remove infinite switch control knobs, infinite switches, indicator lights, rocker switches, and electronic control/clock (as necessary) and transfer to the new control panel. 7. Reverse procedure to reinstall control panel.

Hello David. Yes, you will need to remove the knobs, bezels and the control cover to access and replace the switch. The wires have terminals you can pull off the old switch and slide onto a new switch.
