Arthur K September 18, 2012 for Model Number SDG4606AWW This is a Maytag gas dryer purchased in 2003. It does not heat up. I noticed that this Temperature Switch which has settings from left to right as you look at it for Air Fluff - Ultra Care - Delicate - Medium -Regular. I never took notice before, but since the heat is not working, I am checking things and this switch only clicks when it is put on the Air Fluff cycle or when you take it off the Air Fluff cycle. It does not click for any of the other position settings. Is it suppose to click for each different position setting as you move the dial??? If it is, then I think the switch may be defective and only doing an Air Fluff cycle, which would not trigger the heating elements. Can you tell me if it is supposed to click for each one! If so, then this may be my problem. Thank you very much.
1 Answer Hello Arthur. Yes, the switch should click in all settings. You can test the switch 37001105 for continuity and see if it reads closed in each position. If not, replace the switch. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
1 Answer Eric, this particular switch has 4 settings; High heat(150 dgrs.), Medium heat (140 dgrs.) low heat (130 dgrs.), and no heat(air fluff) setting. Hope this is helpful. Read More...
