Chris November 12, 2011 for Model Number MER8875WS1 In response to my above-asked question - sensor read at 1086 ohms, and the thermal limiter as well as both bake and broil elements all showed good conductivity. After reconnecting everything, the oven heats normally again, must've been an open connection somewhere. Thanks for the help, I'd definitely advise checking/reconnecting things before giving up!
1 Answer Chris, Great job, Yes, loose connections and frayed connections are an issue in a lot of products, and should alsways be the first or second check when servicing a product. Thanks Read More...
Chris November 10, 2011 for Model Number MER8875 The control panel works fine, but the oven just never stops heating/getting hot. The broiler element stays on, regardless of the temperature set point. I haven't gotten a multimeter to check the temp. sensor yet, but am thinking its either that or the thermostat. Any thoughts?
1 Answer Hi Chris. The oven sensor ohms out to 1,100 ohms cold (room temp). Rotate the wires to check for a open or short. Part # WPW10181986. You may have a shorted clock control relay part # WPW10157249. Is there any fault codes? Is the bake element shorted? Element part # WPW10276482. Thank You. Read More...
Julian A. October 08, 2011 for Model Number JER8885RAB 1 by 1 the functions on the keypad began to fail until now there is no functionality to the oven or warming drawer or the warming burner on the stove. Wondering if the touchpad control is bad or maybe something else. Thanks
