Samrob October 18, 2014 for Model Number MDE2400AYW My dryer no longer dries as fast as it did when it was new. It now takes 2-3 times as long. Could my problem be bad thermoststs? I reviewed your video on replacing the thermostats and the difference with my dryer is that it has 2 thermostats. In addition, my access panel is only 12" long and 7" high. Can I access both thermostats through this panel?
1 Answer Hello Samrob. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Geoff March 23, 2014 for Model Number MDE2400AYW What is the difference between the 35001021 and 35001022 thermostats? Are there 2 thermostats in the dryer? Your repair video seems to be the same for both thermostats. Thanks.
