Jim July 01, 2021 for Model Number Kenmore 1069722680 The defrost timer was beginning to get stuck causing the freezer to get above freezing. Never know when this is going to occur. Been working for several days straight now. Installed a new timer and the unit will not come on when plugged in. Put the old one back in and it runs. Put the new one back in and it will not start up. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Jim, it is likely that the timer is in a defrost position from testing at the manufacturer. The timer will have a rotating disc that can be rotated until it clicks. Once it clicks, the compressor and fans should come on as normal. Read More...
Howard June 18, 2021 for Model Number ED20TQXFN01 Good afternoon, Just replaced the defrost timer which did not come with any instructions----put the black wire on terminal 2 (I think)---the defrost cycle appears to be too long resulting in freezer temp above freezing. When I move the adjusting screw on the timer the compressor starts again and the freezer cools down properly. Do I have the black wire attached correctly or does it go on #1 Thanks
1 Answer Howard, Based on the information provided the loose black wire should be on terminal # 1 Read More...
Mark June 17, 2021 for Model Number Whirlpool ED25CQXFW01 I'm having the same issue regarding the black wire. It's a Whirlpool ED25CQXFW01 (MFG DATE 10/98)and the original defrost part number is 2176648 and I'm replacing it with your part 483212. Which terminal should I use? Would you also confirm which wire colors mate to the numbers on the connection? Thank you!
