Jason April 20, 2020 for Model Number ED20TKXDN01 Just replaced the defrost timer and defrost thermostat and my fridge/ freezer is still not holding its temp it runs about 45/50 in fridge and anywhere from 0-30/40 freezer temps and thought it was a defrost issue but i guess not what else could it be and is it worth sticking any more parts on it its a 1996
1 Answer Hello Jason. You need to start the diagnostic with checking if the fans inside the freezer and at the back near the compressor are running. If the compressor is running. Pull off the front vent grill at the bottom and make sure the condenser coil is clean. If you didn't do that for years and you have pets, the coil would be completely blocked. Vacuum and brush it. If all checks as normal, remove the evaporator cover (again) and see how the evaporator coils are covering with the frost pattern. If there are only one or two coils are frosted, there is a sealed system problem $$$...Thank you. Read More...
