Michael May 24, 2013 for Model Number MDB5000AWB My problem is that I have water standing in the bottom of the dishwasher at the end of the cycle. I replaced the float and the water level switch control and the problem continues. I've checked all hoses and cleaned the screens of debris. I'm at my wits end as I cannot continue to throw money at this old dishwasher. Please tell me where else to look for the problems so I can put this dishwasher back together or bite the bullet and buy another.
1 Answer Michael, Have you checked the drain hose for kinks or clogs. Disconnect the drain hose from the plumbing under the sink and drain the dishwasher into a large bucket, this should flush any debris in the pump and hose, as long as the motor runs in the drain direction, and the impeller in the pump is not damaged. Michael March 20, 2013 for Model Number mdb4000aww Dishwasher will run only by advancing the control knob manually. Water doesn't get hot, maybe because it isn't advancing on it's on. Last time used it must have stoped or stuck in dry mode because it and counter got very hot. Lightning knocked out fuse on pole outside while it was running. Could have come back on stuck in a cycle, anyway it won't advance selector knob. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Michael. Thi timer, if bad, will prevent the unit from heating properly. If there is power to the timer motor and it does not advance, replace the timer on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
