David Palmer July 12, 2020 for Model Number wirlpool wfw8300sw05 The washer leaks only during the spin cycle. It appears to be coming from the direction of the air trap. The foam gasket is damp and I can't see signs of moisture any where else. It sprays out a lot when the cycle starts and becomes less as the cycle finishes but I can't see exactly where it is coming from. I recently replaced the pump and door gasket so I do not believe it is those things. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer David, This issue would be caused by either oversudsing in the unit or the unit is overfilling with water. You will want to make sure that you are using HE detergent and not using too much and also make sure that the unit is not overfilling with water. You may also need to run a clean cycle in the unit to help clean any soap residue out. Read More...
Omar April 24, 2019 I have a whirlpool ht washer and it is dripping water from the air trap. I take out that part and it looks okay. My guess i have to replace that part?
1 Answer Omar, there may be a leak from a hose or gasket attached to the air trap, or it may have a small crack in the air trap housing. If you could provide the model number for your washer in a new inquiry, this will allow for more information to assist with this. Read More...

Rob June 30, 2015 for Model Number KHWS02RMT0 The washer stops and a SUD display occurs, after 5 mins or so, it clears it and the a F02 displays. I've cleaned and drained the filter which was basically clean to begin with. I've seen some discussions regarding the air trap being clogged. I'm not sure where that is......thanks for the help
1 Answer Hello Rob. Look for clogs in the drain hose. If it is clear, replace the drain pump. Possible Causes / Procedure 1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. 2. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running. 4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects. 5. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 6. If the above does not correct the problem, go to step 7. 7. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 8. Replace the pump. Read More...
Jeff B. May 06, 2015 for Model Number WTW4800XQ2 I replaced the water valve connecter, all water lines, and electric turn on to normal wash. There in no water flowing into the tub. What should I do next? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jeff, If you have verified the screens to the water valve are not clogged, the issue can be the lid switch W10404050 or the pressure switch WPW10268911. You can pull the wiring diagram for the unit and trace for voltage to determine the cause. Read More...
Ahmed A October 26, 2014 for Model Number GHW9400PW4 Changed ball bearings works fine except at extra high spin! Lots of rattling , could it be the shocks?

Ahmed October 23, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool front load duet washer After putting everything back together there is a leak in the air trap, o ring in place and 2 screws still dripping, how to seal it
Jennifer October 31, 2013 for Model Number GHW9150PW4 Thank you for your information about my washer. I will gladly check the air dome but can you please tell me where it is? Does it have anything to do with the hose coming off of the washer tub that connects to the drain pump? I can put my finger up that hose and touch that ball and move it a little but is it possible that something is plugging it above that? And how do I check it if that is the problem?
1 Answer Hello Jennifer. That is the air dome and the ball is a check ball in the unit. Make sure the hose is clear. If so, replace the pressure switch. Read More...
Larry April 09, 2013 for Model Number MHWE900VW00 The sud flashes on the display. Have cleaned filter and hoses, did afresh several times. The door locks, machine pumps out, very little then the sud comes on. After it pumps out, very little water, the F35 code shows up. What should I check next? We are 1 1/2 hours from any repairman, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
1 Answer Larry, The F35 error code indicates that the Analog pressure sensor failure. The Central control unit has detected a malfunction in the pressure sensor. You will want to make sure that the pressure hose is attached properly and without holes or damage. Check to make sure that the air trap is not blocked. You will want to check to make sure that the drain hose, drain pump and hose from drain pump to the bottom of tub are clear without obstructions. If they get obstructed then it would cause this type of issue and would cause a sud issue. The drain pump may be thinking it is pumping bubbles instead of water and goes into suds lock. Read More...
Steve May 16, 2012 for Model Number 110.49972602 What exactly is an airtrap? #2-What is the purpose of the ball and is there any distinct sound when there is a problem within the housing where the ball is located?
1 Answer Hello Steve, The airtrap actually prevents any suds from getting into the pressure switch. It is an area where, if suds get into it, the suds will have to pop instead of interfering with the pressure switch operation. The ball is located in the outer-tub-to-pump hose. The purpose of the ball is to keep foreign objects and debris from getting into the pump impeller. It makes no noise but if there is an issue in the drain hose, the unit will not drain. Read More...
