Allen C. April 19, 2012 for Model Number WFG111svq Do the burner grates for this stove come in a different height? It seems that the flame should be closer to the cooking utensil. The grate could be lower in my estimation.
1 Answer Hi Allen. I am concerned if all top burners have this issue or just one of them ? Is the oven bake and broil flame OK ? Are these the correct grates ? The original ones part # WPW10180089 dimensions are 18 " Deep x 8-7/8" wide. Remove the said burner knob. You need a long straight shaft screwdriver to insert in the burner valve shaft and a pan of water. Put the pan of water on the said burner and allow the burner a few minutes of warm up time. Use a pair of pliers to turn the valve from low to high slowly just to see smooth valve operation. Does it blow hard or out on high flame? Keeping it In the low setting, insert the screwdriver in the burner shaft. Adjust the inner adjustment screw up while holding the shaft with the pliers firmly at the lowest setting. Adjust the flame so it just caps over the top of the burner cap. Use the knob or pliers to see if the burner now performs correctly. Thank You. Read More...
