For Whirlpool Washer Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM18988641)

Hello Matt, and thank you for your question. During the cold rinse phase, the hot water valve would need to be tested for 120 Volts AC. If voltage is present during a cold rinse cycle, the main control board W11543998 has failed.

Raul, it is possible that the unit may be acting as it is out of balance which can be caused by clothes positioned more on one side than the other, the unit being unlevel, or a potential failure in the motor, shifter, or control. Inspecting for an unlevel unit, and identifying if there are any stored error codes in the diagnostic mode can identify a more specific cause of failure.

Travis, Turn off the water supply and remove the hose from the water valve and check the screen to make sure that it is not clogged. If the valve is not clogged you will want to test to see if there is power to the valve and if there is power to the valve then the valve will be the issue and will need to be replaced.

Marwan, The First thing to check is the water faucets, the fill hoses, and washers. A worn faucet washer, loose-fitting fill hose/washer could allow water to drip into the drip pan under the washer. If all's OK then replace the W11220230 / W10758829 Valve.

Michael, during the start of a cycle, the hot water valve W11220230 can be tested for 120VAC. If it is receiving 120VAC, then the valve would need to be replaced. If it is not receiving 120VAC, then the most likely failure would be the main control W11723354.

Adela for Model Number Kenmore 11027132411

My washer is getting too much water in it. I ran the service diagnostics, and it did not return any errors. The pressure hose appears to be clear. The valve test did test higher than the recommended range of ohms. I'm not sure if I need to replace the valve assembly or if it's actually the pressure sensor that is bad. The washer does not overflow, but it just keeps filling, sensing, and filling until it's too full, and then it has trouble agitating, etc.

Hello Adela, it sounds like the water level sensor that is mounted on the main control board is trying to fill the tub to what it thinks is the proper water level, it is dependent on air pressure building up in the airdrome on the outer tub and up thru the airline hose to the pressure switch. Replace the airline tubing first. it is part WP353244, any tiny air leak in the tubing or its end fittings will cause this problem.
