An interlock switch is responsible for shutting down the engine if the equipment is running in an unsafe manner. It is a safety component that prevents the engine from starting if you aren't pressing down the brake with your foot or if the parking brake isn't in place. If the interlock switch beaks, the current will no longer reach the solenoid coil even if the brake is depressed. This will result in the engine not starting. If turning the ignition key doesn't result in the click of the solenoid, the damaged part is likely the interlock switch. The first step is to disconnect the battery and then release the steering plate. Next, remove the interlock switch under the hood and install the new one. At this point, the other parts can be reinstalled, and the lawn mower can be used. This is a genuine manufacturer-approved OEM part that is designed for Husqvarna, Ryobi, Craftsman, Dixon, Weed Eater, Murray, Ariens, and Poulan lawn mowers. This interlock switch is made with a high-quality plastic body and is sold as an individual component. A screwdriver will be required to make this replacement.
