This cycling thermostat regulates your dryer's internal air temperature by switching the heat source on and off, helping prevent overheating and keeping drying performance consistent. Replace it if temperatures are erratic, items run too hot, or dry times increase. What it does:

• Monitors drum air temperature and opens/closes to control the heater
• Maintains stable temperatures across fabric/temperature settings
• Failure symptoms include no or low heat, overheating/scorch smells, long dry times, or inconsistent cycling
• Helps protect against damage from excessive heat when functioning correctly

• 1 cycling thermostat

• Disconnect power; if it's a gas dryer, also shut off the gas supply
• Allow the unit to cool; access the thermostat (typically on an internal air duct or blower housing); note wire positions
