The Bake Element is an OEM part for GE ovens, designed to provide the heat necessary for baking. This element is located at the bottom of the oven cavity and heats up when electricity is applied, converting electrical energy into heat to cook food evenly. 

Over time, however, the bake element can wear out or become damaged.

Symptoms of a bad Bake Element include:

The Oven Broil Element is an OEM part for GE ovens. This element is located at the top of the oven cavity and is responsible for broiling, providing high heat for cooking tasks such as searing meats or browning the top of dishes. 

Causes of a bad Oven Broil Element can include prolonged use, leading to eventual wear and tear, exposure to food spills and grease that can corrode or damage the element, and electrical issues that may cause it to fail prematurely.  

Symptoms of a malfunctioning Oven Broil Element include:

• The element not glowing red when the broil function is activated
• Uneven cooking or browning of food
• The oven taking longer than usual to broil
• No heat production when the broil setting is selected
