The Water Valve is an OEM replacement part for GE side-by-side refrigerators. As part of the internal plumbing system, the valve controls the supply of water into the refrigerator for ice and water dispensing functions. It opens and closes precisely based on electronic signals from the control board.

Causes of a bad water valve can include mineral buildup disrupting water flow, seal deterioration from repeated use, or damage due to freezing temperatures. 

Symptoms of a bad water valve include:

The Drain Tube is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It is responsible for directing defrost water to the drain pan located beneath the appliance, where it can evaporate safely. 

Causes of a bad drain tube can include blockages from debris or ice, physical damage such as cracks or splits that allow water leakage, or a disconnection from its fitting points due to improper installation or material fatigue.

Symptoms of a bad Drain Tube include:

• Water pooling at the bottom of the refrigerator compartment
• Ice accumulation in or around the freezer area
• Leakage of water onto the kitchen floor beneath the refrigerator
