The Broil Element is an OEM part for Whirlpool ranges. This part provides the intense, direct heat necessary for broiling. This part is located at the top of the oven cavity and is essential for achieving high temperatures needed for tasks like browning and searing.

Causes of a bad broil element can include electrical issues such as short circuits, damage from spills or food debris, and general wear and tear from repeated use.  

Symptoms of a bad Broil Element include:

• The oven not reaching broil temperatures
• Inconsistent or uneven broiling
• The element not glowing red when in use
• Visible signs of damage or burning on the element

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

This bake element supplies the primary heat from the bottom of the oven during the Bake cycle. Replace it to restore proper preheating and even results when the original is burned out, damaged, or no longer heating. What it does:

• Helps the oven reach and maintain the set temperature for consistent cooking

• Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance before servicing
• Remove oven racks; take out the element's mounting screws and gently pull the element forward
• Support and disconnect the two wire terminals; prevent wires from slipping back into the insulation
• Attach wires to the new element, secure with existing hardware, restore power, and test
