Whirlpool Washer LA7900XTG1 Timer will not advance

This mechanical washer timer controls the sequence and duration of every cycle. Replacing a worn timer can restore proper advancing and reliable fill, wash, drain, and spin operation. What it does:

• Controls timing for fill, wash/agitate, drain, and spin steps
• Routes power to the motor, pump, and inlet valves at the correct times
• Advances the control dial automatically through each stage
• Failure can present as won't start, won't advance or stops mid-cycle, or skips functions (fill/agitate/drain/spin)

• 1 timer assembly

• Disconnect power before servicing
• Access the timer in the control console; remove the back cover, knob/retainer, and mounting screws as needed
• Transfer wires one at a time from the old timer to the new to maintain positions
• Reassemble and run a short cycle to verify proper operation
