Calvin C Oroville , WA June 20, 2016 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG RB1855SL/XAC The defrost element on the fridge evaporator was burned out so the evaporator fins would plug up with frost until the fridge compartment would not cool any more I ordered the Evaporator assembly for my model (Samsung RB1855SL/XAC) and upon receiving the assembly I dismantled the element from the cooling assembly by bending back the aluminium tabs. I then replaced the existing element with the new one and realigned the aluminium tabs, plugged in the new element, fuse link and sensor. This meant I didn't have to discharge and recharge the cooling system. Everything seems to work great now.
