Gilbert L Morgantown , WV May 31, 2014 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG RS2578SH Defrost cycle error My Samsung side by side was freezing up the cooling coils. My repair started by reading online problems of others and replacing parts they replaced. These parts were very inexpensive probes, less than $10 each, from this site. Although they turned out not to repair the problem, they were the most obvious and easies attempt. The defrost heating element was the next test that needed done. A simple ohms test showed no resistance, thus being an open circuit and needing replaced. Replacement was not difficult and required no special tools, except an ohms meter. Persons at Appliance Parts Pros was very helpful in cross checking their parts to Samsung OEM numbers. An hour of labor on the start to finish is about my time on the repair. All parts and shipping came to about $50.00, less than one part from Samsung. Thanks to the Pros at Appliance Parts!
