Stephen H Sparrowbush , NY August 30, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RS253BABB/XAA R defrosting error refrigerator not maintaining temperature Disassembled the evaporator section, defrosted the evaporator, pried out the heater element. Took the new heater element off of the new evaporator assembly. Put back in to the evaporator section in the refrigerator. Useful to know that you need at least 3 small tie wraps to replace the tie wraps you need to cut off to get the heater out. And 4, 1/8" x 3/16 (longer would still woork) aluminum pop rivets to hold on to the drain hole defrost plate. A 1/8" drill to drill out the pop rivets as well. Tools: Something to cut the tie wraps, pop riveter, drill, Phillips screwdriver, pliers to bend the aluminum tabs holding on the heater element. Read More...
