John M River Falls , WI January 03, 2016 Burner element was bad After unplugging the stove, I propped up the cook top, disconnected the wiring harnesses (one on each side), and removed it. Upside down on the carpet, I disconnected the bad burner and replaced it with the new one. A word of caution: be VERY careful handling the burner as the ceramic ring breaks easily. I broke mine but was able to scavenge the intact ring from the old burner.
