Chris M Monument , CO March 28, 2014 Ice maker started making a loud thumping sound I took the ice bin out and pushed the door switch in. This allowed me to see that the ice tray wasn't rotating all the way over to dump cubes in the bin. The motor kept trying, but the tray kept getting stuck. I ordered a new ice maker as a result of seeing that. It took me about 10 minutes to remove and replace the unit. Removing two screws in the front of the freezer ceiling allowed me to slide the plastic bracket forward and remove it. I was then able to pop the cable harness free and remove the old ice maker. I'm glad I did this! I'm sure I saved myself a few hundred dollars by not having to call a repairman. Raymond P Chewelah , WA July 17, 2014 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG RS2545SH Ice maker in my samsung refrigerator failed for the second time The first repair was performed by an appliance specialist at my home. The cost of the unit plus labor was approximately $160. When that unit failed the repairman inspected it at his cost and suggested I replace it again. He suggested I do it myself and save some money. I purchased the part and promptly received it from Appliance Parts and within 15 minutes has the unit up and running. The unit appears to perform better than the original ice maker and the first replacement.
