Paul F Beaverton , OR February 18, 2017 Igniter continually sparking when burner was set to simmer Replaced the burner base, O-ring, and igniter (came as an assembly). Very easy to replace. Remove 2 screws that secure the burner base to the spill pan and unplug igniter to remove old base. Install in the reverse order. The manufacturer's service support told me the O-ring was only important for spills and is not important for burner operation. This is not the case. Learned that the O-ring is important for air flow to the burner. Without the O-ring, the igniter will spark continuously on low burner settings and must be replaced if broken or deteriorated by the heat of the burner. Read More...
