The fixes worked for a while but the alarm came back with increasing regularity. I found a Google video that showed a handyman replacing the defective membrane keypad and was impressed by how simple it was. I ordered a replacement keypad from you and installed it immediately. Nancy H Norwalk , OH December 05, 2014 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG SMH8165W MICROWAVE I kept getting an se fault i tried some of the fixes i read about they worked for a short time I read the article from the gentleman from Michigan.Then I examined the keypad and notice a small crack above the minute key.Since I had tried every other possibility I decided to order a new keypad.The directions where simple and the microwave has been operating wonderfully for the past three days.The company gets a excellent rating for delivery and quality.I will recommend them to others. John B Winchester , KY June 15, 2018 Appliance: Model SMH1865 Fixed the SE or 5 E error code on my Samsung microwave First the embarrassing part of the story... I didn't pay attention to the W at the end of the part number ... and not seeing a black or white option when I ordered, got the white version rather than the black (yes, the picture was white, but just didn't think about it. I installed it anyway ... may replace it with a black one after I'm done reminding myself of a $50 mistake. The new touchpad is working fine. I did not remove the stainless steel trim, which covers the edges of the membrane and may help to hold them down. The original membrane pulled out from underneath it. The trim is securely glued down, and removing it surely would have destroyed its smooth finish (with creases, dents, etc). After sticking the membrane in place, I was able to trim about 1/16 of an inch with an exacto knife. Looks good ... except I should have ordered black. Read More...
