Mike M Muskogee , OK January 20, 2017 Appliance: Model WD330AEB/XAA Samsung clothes dryer fuse assembly in heating element housing inoperable A month ago I replaced the heating element in a Samsung Dryer, everything was working great, then it stopped heating again. I disassembled the dryer again thinking g the heating element had quit working again. After takining it apart again I found the element be still intact and okay. On the side of the elheating element housing are two other parts (1) the thermostat and (2) fuse assembly. I noticed the fuse assembly had a melted spot on it. I used a multimeter to check the contunity found it to be open. I replace the fuse assembly and went ahead a replaced the thermostat. I also replace the vent hose due possible airflow restriction. Put everything back together and dryer is working great. I am going to check the vent hose monthly, and keep it clean and free of any debris which will help with airflow and keep the parts working properly. Hope this helps. Thomas L Greenwood , IN March 20, 2018 Samsung electric dryer (7 years old) stopped heating After watching several videos on You tube, I decided to diy repair. Originally, I ordered a complete heater assembly from the Samsung support parts system. After 10 days, they could not deliver, so I cancelled and ordered from Appliancepartspro.com. They did not have the complete assembly either, but did have the heater element and the two thermostats available and I reused the original housing. I also ordered a new drive belt since I was going to be tearing down anyway. I received the parts in about 5 days. Tear-down and assembly went pretty much as shown in the videos. There were a couple things I did a little different. First, at tear-down I marked the 6 wires connected to heater and thermostats with numbered tape tabs. I don't know how important their exact location is, but this way I was sure. Secondly, I am old and working on the floor is not so easy. So after moving the upper panel and removing the front panel, I replaced the 2 screws at the rear of the upper panel and secured the front of the upper panel to the side panels using Guerrilla Tape. Then I tipped the machine on its back using a piece of lumber or rug to protect the back. This made access to the remaining components a snap. Whether lucky or good, it fired up first try. Now wife's hero again! Read More... 11 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
