Jackie M Dekalb , IL March 19, 2019 Appliance: Model RF28HFEDTSR/AA (0005) Top left refrigerator door hinge was damaged Purchased replacement hinge. I am not a appliance repairman, but I do consider myself handy at repairing things around the house. I had purchased this refrigerator damaged at a local store at a fantastic price. After watching a YouTube video I felt confident this would be a easy repair. Researched AppliancePartsPros.com website and purchased parts I knew to be damaged. 1. Removed top hinge cover ( 3 Phillips head screws ). 2. Unplugged wiring harness and water line. 3. Lifted hinge quick release and removed. 4. Pried up old hinge and carefully remove wiring harness and water line. I had forgotten to buy a replacement gasket for bottom of hinge, so I used a razor blade to remove the one from the damaged hinge. 5. Removed door closure cam lock pin from damaged hinge ( 2 Phillips head screws ) and installed on new hinge. 6. Reversed the process to install new hinge. Read More...
