- Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair to avoid shock or damage.

Amana sxd26vw refrigerator side intermittently not cooling Donald K. • Lake Jackson , TX • February 02, 2016

I placed a thermometer in the fridge and was measuring temperatures ranging between 33 and 50 degrees F. Often, when the temperature was above 40 F, I noted that the compressor and fans were not running. Researching possible causes on-line, must likely causes were defrost timer and refrigerator temperature control assembly. I decided my...

Replaced thermostat/cold control
it was a direct replacement but needed to be mounted 90 degrees to the original configuration for the knob to align
that required a bit of ingenuity and drilling but worked beautifully
and most importantly accurately afterward

First we paid a USELESS appliance repair person to come out and tell us the cost to repair the unit would exceeded the value of the unit. Which I fold to be amazing as it was a $3000 electrolux icon. We spent $245 on a new inverter board and it's working like new!!!

Ce error had to unplug every time to reset the error on my electrolux refrigerator Ron E. • Washougal , WA • July 20, 2014
Went on different blogs and found similar issues I was having. Replacing the main board was the issue. Main board came in the mail after 4 days. Instruction was clear. Had to tip the refrigerator enough to get access to it since it was located at the left bottom. I got creative by putting my 10 lb exercise ball to prop it up. Undo a couple of screws, unplug to the old and plug to the new. Very simple install.
