This is the rear section of the outer tub that holds the wash water and supports the inner drum and bearing assembly. It forms the back half of the tub enclosure and is essential for containing water during the wash and spin cycles. Replace this part if you notice water leaking from the rear of the tub, excessive noise or vibration during spin caused by a worn bearing, or visible cracks in the tub.
