This genuine OEM gasket sits between the carburetor and cylinder to create a seal on a wide range of different lawn mower engines. The carburetor is responsible for mixing fuel and air, so it is important that it remains well sealed. The cylinder sits on top of the combustion chamber, and must also be sealed to provide the proper amount of pressure to drive the pistons. Therefore, it's crucial that nothing escapes from the engine where these two parts meet. Gaskets are designed to take a lot of wear and tear, but they can eventually blow after repeated exposure to heat and pressure. When a carburetor and cylinder gasket blows, the engine will not perform as well. Look out for vibrations, backfiring, low output, or an engine that stops shortly after startup.
