Aluminum strap secures the defrost heater against the evaporator coil. Replace if broken, cracked, or missing to maintain proper heater contact.
Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. This is a genuine lock nut replacement. This is a general piece of hardware that is often used on several types of lawn and garden equipment, including in engines, housing, and other areas. The exact application of this part will vary based on the unit. The lock nut is used to create a more secure seal than a standard nut. When properly secured, the lock nut tightens to a bolt and uses an extra locking washer with teeth to ensure a snug fit.If lock washers do get damaged or lost, they need to be replaced immediately with a genuine OEM replacement. This air filter consists of an internal plastic frame with a foam mesh cover that captures dust and dirt. The outer, washable pad covers an accordion-style inner filter that removes even finer particles. An air filter keeps particles in the air from getting sucked into the motor, where friction will cause wear and tear to the engine. However, a filter has a limited life cycle. Eventually, it gets clogged up, which leads to limited airflow and decreased efficiency. If the engine is bogging down when it is revved up, a clogged air filter might be to blame. Simply install a new air filter and see if the motor performance improves. It is recommended to preemptively replace the air filter every spring so a clogged filter never puts a halt to a job in progress.
