This genuine OEM part is a washer lid. The washer lid is the main piece that covers the washer. Over time, a washer lid can become damaged to the point where it no longer closes securely. If the washer lid is no longer closing all the way or is severely cracked or damaged, it will need to be replaced. To replace this part, start by making sure the washer is unplugged. After it has been powered off, proceed to take a putty knife to lift to release the two retaining clips that secure the washer's main top. Once released, proceed to remove the lid lock assembly wire connector. Fully remove the main top and set it upside down. Release the tension on the lid springs and detach the springs from the main top and hinge bars. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the hinge bars to the lid. Push the hinge bars through the bearings then twist the bars to remove them. This will separate the lid from the main top. Take the new lid and align it with the main top. Insert the hinge bar between the main top and bearing while threading the screws to secure the new top. Reinstall the top panel and connect the wire harness. This replacement part is sourced directly from the manufacturer and is compatible with Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse brand washers.
