This cotter pin is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on many different lawn and garden machines in many different applications. Cotter pins are pins that are made of metal that are bent with or without curves on one side. The u-shaped pin is used to secure bolts in place. After installation, the ends of the pin are twisted to hold it tightly in place. One example of cotter pin use is on lawnmower wheels. After the wheel is placed on the shaft, the cotter pin slides through the hole on the end of the shaft to keep the wheel in place.Over time, cotter pins may become rusted, or the part being held together may need to be replaced. When the cotter pin is removed, a new one should be installed to ensure a tight hold. Use pliers to untwist or straighten the cotter pin for removal. Pull the cotter pin back through the hole using the pliers. To install a new cotter pin, push the pin through the hole and spread the ends in opposite directions once the pin is through the hole. This cotter pin is made of heavy-duty metal and is sold individually. It is designed for use in many different lawn and garden machines manufactured by various companies, including Craftsman, MTD, and Makita.
This part is a replacement bearing cup. This is a genuine OEM part made by MTD and has been sourced directly from the manufacturer. This replacement part is a center sprocket. This is a genuine replacement part made by MTD. This part is used to connect certain pieces and use a turning or rotating mechanism to allow the engine to run properly and effectively. A new center sprocket might be needed if the current one has worn ridges. This can be due to a high level of friction after years of normal wear and tear. Because of the rotating motion, this part can be easily stripped over time and will need to be replaced. Wear work gloves during this repair to prevent injury to the user and those around them. This is a genuine OEM replacement part. This part is sold individually and is sourced directly from the manufacturer.
Upper handle for walk-behind mowers. Mounts at the top of the handle assembly to control mower movement. Replace if cracked, bent, or broken from impact.
An idler pulley is an essential part of many small and medium sized gasoline powered tools. This idler pulley is used in equipment such as tillers, lawn tractors, log splitters, edgers, snow blowers, and trimmers. The idler pulley is necessary so that the engine can run without the tool's moving parts being engaged. For instance, a lawn tractor running without the cutting blades turning or the wheels rolling. Once the idler pulley is engaged, the blade begins to turn. There is a great deal of resistance encountered by the idler pulley each time the equipment's tools begin to turn. Over time, the pulley can become worn and will eventually need to be replaced. If there is a squealing sound whenever the moving parts of a lawn tool are engaged, it is probably a sign that the idler pulley is about to fail. The pulley itself is attached to the engine housing with 9/16 hex bolts and requires an adjustable wrench and 9/16 ratchet to remove and replace. Always use a genuine OEM manufactured replacement part such as this one when replacing the original, as this part is identical to the original. This part is compatible with equipment manufactured by Bolens, MTD, Cub Cadet, Huskee, and Troy Bilt.
