This door latch secures your dishwasher door in the closed position during operation. It engages with the strike plate to create a watertight seal and allows the dishwasher to start. Replace this latch if your dishwasher door won't stay closed or the unit won't start even when the door appears shut.

Took off the bottom panel and found the detailed repair instructions for this particular model. At first they weren't super clear, but once I opened the door and could see the separate parts (the panel, the control board, the latch, etc) it made sense. I followed the diagnostic instructions, which (for my problem) required getting out the multimeter. I found that the push button panel had a short.
