This is a complete gasket kit that is sold as a genuine OEM replacement for MTD lawn and garden equipment engines. The engine contains various gaskets throughout the components that are responsible for creating a good seal and ensuring the proper flow of air and fuel through the equipment. Over time, these gaskets can become worn, brittle, or warped and should be replaced. It is always best to replace all of the gaskets at the same time with this OEM complete gasket kit. It is manufactured by MTD and designed to work with select engines from Troy-Bilt, MTD, and Cub Cadet. It is a good idea to inspect gaskets while performing other engine repairs or maintenance. This can help identify issues before they become bigger problems and allow for a quick gasket repair instead of a total engine overhaul. The gaskets should be replaced one at a time and the area where they sit should be cleaned to ensure a good seal. Never take all of the gaskets out and try to replace them at once. It can be confusing and it may be difficult to get things back together. This complete gasket kit includes all of the gaskets that are needed for a full engine replacement.
This is a governor arm shaft found on lawnmowers, chippers, and other engines on lawn and garden equipment. It is a component of the governor assembly maintains a steady speed regardless of how much stress is placed on the engine. The governor arm is connected to the carburetor arm shaft. One end of this arm is connected to the governor spring and the other to the throttle linkage. Speed is increased or decreased based on the amount of push or pull that is placed on the throttle arm. If the governor arm shaft is bent, broken, or damaged, the governor arm will not be able to maintain its speed. The engine may appear to be stuck in high speed or it won't accelerate at all.Remove the carburetor to access the governor assembly. Disconnect the governor spring and take the linkage off the governor arm. Remove the governor arm from the arm shaft and then remove the broken governor arm shaft. Install the new shaft and reassemble the governor. Reinstall the carburetor. The governor arm shaft is made from heavy-duty metal and is sold as an individual unit. It is compatible with snowblowers, lawnmowers, chippers, and other small engines manufactured by MTD, Craftsman, Yard Machines, Troy-Bilt, Yard Man, Cub Cadet, and Husky.
