This is a replacement screw that is a genuine part for select outdoor power equipment units. The shoulder screw is a unique screw that is designed to provide a secure fit while still allowing the unit the joint that it needs to operate properly. Depending on the unit and application, this screw is designed to provide rotation for pulleys, gears, and other moving parts. When they are damaged or wear out, or the threads strip, they will need to be replaced. There are several incidents that could cause damage to a shoulder screw. Regardless, a replacement with this genuine OEM part will be necessary. This OEM shoulder screw is manufactured to exact specifications and can be used with models from Cub Cadet, MTD, and Troy-Bilt. This part will require a socket or nut driver to replace. The shoulder screw is a fairly simple replacement. Allow the unit to cool and wear gloves for hand protection. Since this part has multiple applications, owners should consult their parts diagram for the exact placement of this shoulder screw. The screw is sold individually.
Bevel gear transfers power between the engine and drive system in lawn tractors. Replace if you notice grinding noises or power loss. Verify fit with your model.
An idler pulley is an essential part of many small and medium sized gasoline powered tools. This idler pulley is used in equipment such as tillers, lawn tractors, log splitters, edgers, snow blowers, and trimmers. The idler pulley is necessary so that the engine can run without the tool's moving parts being engaged. For instance, a lawn tractor running without the cutting blades turning or the wheels rolling. Once the idler pulley is engaged, the blade begins to turn. There is a great deal of resistance encountered by the idler pulley each time the equipment's tools begin to turn. Over time, the pulley can become worn and will eventually need to be replaced. If there is a squealing sound whenever the moving parts of a lawn tool are engaged, it is probably a sign that the idler pulley is about to fail. The pulley itself is attached to the engine housing with 9/16 hex bolts and requires an adjustable wrench and 9/16 ratchet to remove and replace. Always use a genuine OEM manufactured replacement part such as this one when replacing the original, as this part is identical to the original. This part is compatible with equipment manufactured by Bolens, MTD, Cub Cadet, Huskee, and Troy Bilt.
