This is the outer rear tub assembly that forms the main watertight shell of the washing machine. It houses the inner wash basket and contains the water during wash and rinse cycles. Replace this assembly if you notice water leaking from the bottom of the washer, visible cracks in the tub, or excessive vibration caused by tub damage.

Wendy on the phone was very helpful. WM3997HWA/01 is an all-in-one washer/dryer from 2017 and does not have a rotor position sensor on the stator. She helped determine that Stator Assembly AJB73816004 was the fix. There is also a 00 or 01 after the model number which can be found on the serial number tag when you open the door that identifies the different series. Easy repair to take on. Hope this helps.
