I got the model number from inside the refrigerator and started researching as to who sold parts for this old refrigerator. AppliancePartsPros.com had the best price with parts and shipping. It came in just a few days. The handle was easy to replace by popping out the bottom cover, unscrewing one screw at the bottom and then unscrewing the top two screws. It took about 5 minutes to replace. Very easy. Very nice replacement part. Read more

Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) It took two repair attempts to fix the dryer. At first, I noticed that the rear felt seal was completely worn out, so I thought that extra friction between the tub and the rear panel might be causing the motor to have to work too hard and overheat.
