I sent an e-mail to customer service and explained to them that I had lifted the Amana cooktop from the counter and it appeared to be a sealed unit. Not certain how to take it apart, I asked for the service manual or description on how to access the unit for repair. The next day customer service / technical support sent me a PDF, and after printing out and reading it - decided that the unit was repairable by removing (8) screws from the burners, and (2) screws from underside of the burner...
