This is a small hinge washer (shim) that sits between the door hinge and the refrigerator cabinet to ensure proper door alignment and smooth operation. It helps maintain the correct spacing and reduces friction at the hinge point. Replace this part if the refrigerator door is sagging, not closing properly, or if the original washer is worn, cracked, or missing.

Silicone lubricant conditions rubber seals and O-rings in appliances. Apply during service to ease installation and prevent leaks. Confirm fit by model.
It was a relatively easy fix and the video instructions on this site provided were helpful. The one piece that wasn't clear is the alumilastic was already on the replacement part so a separate tube is not required. That wasn't clear on the video and was an unneeded expense. Read more

Replaced the control board after removing the inner door liner, plastice board cover and board itself, by removing screws, working various plastic clips/tabs and unclipping wire harnesses from board. most of time was spent cleaning the black soot from the door, which had a terrible burnt electrical/plastic fire smell. Cleaned mold/scale off of as much of the door as I could while in there as well. Removing parts without breaking plastic tabs to hold the new parts was trickiest part. Read more

I pulled out the old housing and unplugged the motor. It pretty much came out in pieces. Remove the plastic from the motor, then had to take a pair of vice grips to hold the spindle in place to remove the auger. Remove what was still attached to the old Housing. Cleaned everything up and put the whole unit back together. The motor looked like it was somewhat cooked but still worked, so I ordered a new motor and auger to replace it.
