Replaces a cracked, rusted, or disconnected exhaust duct that routes hot air from your dryer to the home vent. Restores proper airflow and venting.
Removed front of dryer and back access plate allowing me to see that the pipe just slipped over the blower. A small tab in the back cover was inserted inside the left side of the pipe and when I straightened the tab I could move the pipe to the right and then straight out. Replacement of the pipe was the reverse. The new pipe did not have a hole for the tab, so I bent the tab to its original position, and rested the pipe against the tab. When I opened up the dryer to replace the belt I found the front glides were all worn out and the front bearing was worn out. got the belt and glides locally. ordered the new bearing, couldn't get it locally, it was delivered in just two days! it fit just like the old piece put it all back together. now runs quietly. and of story---happy wife! After taking off the top and front panels to access the drum, it was easy to see what the problem was. The front drum support was worn through and the 3 drum support glides were gone. The rear drum bearing was also completely worn out. And while I had the dryer apart I also replaced the idler pulley and drive belt. The only hard part was putting the drive belt back on the motor shaft and idler pulley. The dryer is back to drying clothes like a new machine. Read more
