This was a Maytag DE312 actually a Whirlpool labeled as Maytag) and is 27 years old. Replaced motor, drive belt and drum rollers. One tricky part was the motor because the new motor comes with integral starter and it was necessary to cut off existing female spade connectors on some wires and crimp on new connectors. The belts were very easy to change through the back of the machine. The heating element was a bit more involved. I basically had to disassemble the entire machine. The heating element is located on the front panel of the machine surrounding the door. You have to remove the rear panel, the top panel and loosen both side panels from the bottom pan, 6 screws.
