This short drum baffle is one of the interior fins that tumbles clothes as your dryer drum rotates. It helps lift and drop laundry to improve drying efficiency and prevent clothes from bunching together. Replace this baffle if it's broken, loose, or missing, which can cause poor drying performance and clothes that remain damp or wrinkled.

Just opened up wire connections on all three (after taking pictures, since schematic was skewed) solenoid could and did a continuity check as one of them came back negative and just replaced it...all is working again. Read more
This was a Maytag DE312 actually a Whirlpool labeled as Maytag) and is 27 years old. Replaced motor, drive belt and drum rollers. One tricky part was the motor because the new motor comes with integral starter and it was necessary to cut off existing female spade connectors on some wires and crimp on new connectors.
