Disconnect power; turn off gas supply to gas dryers before servicing
Remove panels to access the drive system; release belt tension and remove the drum as needed
The blower wheel threads onto the motor shaft—support it carefully; many GE dryers use a reverse (left-hand) thread
Transfer wiring and any reusable hardware to the new motor; test before reassembly

Replaced the motor with a new one, if I can offer any advice about doing this job, make sure to keep track of where each wire goes on the motor and whatever wires need to be disconnected. There are a few good video's online showing how to do this job and can save you a lot of time and frustration. Read more

Replaced belt, pulley with a 4 grove pulley. Pulley that was on there was a 3 grove pulley, Had to cut the old one off, Press on to shaft. Replaced rear drum bearing. Bearing was locked on with a snap ring. Access to it from a removable plate on the back side of dryer. Reset belt and idler puller by removing a long back plate on the bottom rear side of the dryer.
